NexLynx Gallery (123 SW 6th, 2nd Fl): Rodney Hoover’s unique digital fine art composite project “Oxland” all started as a fluke while scanning historical family photos. Rodney decided to swap out the heads from family photos with the thousands of bovine images he has taken and created complete back stories for all these new characters. Fire up your taste buds and vote for your favorite beer infused chili in the highly popular, annual Art Walk Chili Competition. Snacks, soda, beer and wine provided. FFAW hours are 5-8p. Creations of Hope Gallery (727 S Kansas): Join the Creations of Hope Gallery as we celebrate the opening of “Artists With Physical Disabilities.” This exhibit will feature the work of Douglas Fleming, Shawn Nowak, Laura Brothers, Janie Gibler, Joan Bosley, and Heather Edge, all whom have developed their artistic practices to cope with symptoms and enrich their lives. Amused (907 N Kansas): The White Rabbit might be late but you don’t have to be! We have one of our favorite annual shows this month featuring local artists inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland. Matryoshka Tattoo (902 N Kansas): Morgan Celeste is Matryoshka’s featured artist for the month of October. Morgan is a mama by day, artist by nap-time. She has been creating since she was able to hold a paint brush, but the birth of her daughter inspired her to pursue that passion professionally.
