T.S. Eliot's Murder in the Cathedral portrays the assassination of
Thomas Beckett. It is the powerful dramatization of the original
struggle for the separation of Church and State. This magnificent
play was written in 1935 to be performed during a festival at
Canterbury Cathedral in England, the site of the actual event.
Although the setting is England, 1170, the issue is as current as
todays headlines.
"Grace Cathedral is a natural place to produce this classic play."
say's director Karen Hastings. Karen has assembled some of Topeka's
finest talent and intends to take full advantage of the splendor and
beauty of the Church in bringing this epic story to life.
This play is being presented at 8 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as
part of the celebration of Grace Cathedral's 150th year in the Topeka
community. Proceeds will help send Cathedral youth on a Pilgrimage to
Canterbury in July, 2007.
We'd love for you to attend. Bring a group and save.
If you or your business or organization would like to help sponsor
this production - or for tickets or arrange for a group - please
contact Cathedral youth leaders Kathy Slawson or Michael Massey at
