Capitol Federal Recognized As Title Sponsor for Spirit of Kansas

Shawnee County Parks + Recreation is excited to recognize Capitol Federal® once again as the “title sponsor” for the 2024 Spirit of Kanas, an annual event that takes place on July 4 at Lake Shawnee.

On Thur., May 2, at 9 a.m., there will be a check presentation by Capitol Federal® to the Shawnee County Commissioners. The meeting will be at the Shawnee County Commission Office, 707 SE Quincy St. in Topeka. Those presenting the check include Capitol Federal CEO John B. Dicus, Capitol Federal Foundation President Tammy Dishman, and Shawnee County Parks + Recreation Director Tim Laurent. Capitol Federal® has been the title sponsor for 22 years straight.

The Spirit of Kansas is a daylong event that ends with a spectacular fireworks display celebrating our great nation’s independence. The rest of the events that will take place during the day will be released sometime in June.
